An incredible loft, filled with plants!

Hands up who loves a house plant? This home tour is for you! Seriously, I've never seen so much beautiful greenery in one place, it takes the term 'urban jungle' to a new level  - and the results are lush! Formerly a cotton mill from the 1870s, the plant-filled loft is located in the centre of Baltimore and belongs to green-fingered Hilton Carter and his girlfriend Fiona Vismans who met as neighbours three years ago (when she knocked on his door to ask him to turn his music down! Love that!). Hilton estimates he owns around 120 plants which wind their way around a blend of high street, thrift store and flea market finds and thrive on the light from the incredible windows. "I really like having plants as a part of my interior styling. You need that sort of life to open up the space, to clean the air, and to make it feel like home," Hilton explained to Baltimore Magazine. Prepare to be inspired...

A Dutch home gets a green make-over

Do you have any New Year interior resolutions? It could be as simple as de-cluttering or as crazy as shelling out your entire house and starting again from the ground up (like my sister!). Personally, I'm keeping it simple, and have a goal to add a little more colour to my home (baby steps friends, baby steps!). Which is why this lovely space caught my eye. If you follow Holland-based Marian on Instagram you'll know several things about her space a) it's in a constant state of change b) she loves plants and flowers and c) she's a big fan of green! And it's the latter that caught my eye - looking back through her feed there has always been a hint of green in her home but recently Marian took things to a whole new level of greenness with half-painted walls. Here's the before and after...

Step inside Jennifer Harrison's bohemian style home

Hej hej och gott nytt år (happy new year!). I took a little bit of a longer break this year (I've found that when it comes to having your own business you've got to seize those quiet moments (plus it's a little easier when the boss is yours truly (the conversation goes something like: me - "Is it OK to take two weeks off" me: "Only two weeks?" I hope you had a nice break too? After new year we nipped to Norway for a few days skiing (aaaah, I'm so in love with that country, I can't even begin to tell you), and now feeling rested, invigorated and ready to go again (although oh so slow!). I thought I'd kick off the year with an inspiring home tour with a boho twist. The space is kind of apt as I reckon 2018 is going to be a lot about mixing in second hand, vintage and antique finds (more than ever).  This beautiful Cleveland, Ohio space belongs to Jennifer Harrison of Flea Market Fab fame. Jen describes her style as 'relaxed, curated and one that doesn't follow the 'design rules' and is a master at sourcing recycled finds which she combines to create a unique and cosy home (as well as to sell through her lovely shop). Let's step inside Jen's world.....

Aaaaah, I love this space. What I'd give to be able to live somewhere warm enough to warrant a porch / veranda like Jen's - how about you? Or perhaps you have one too?

And how fabulous is the vintage runner on the stairs? Apparently it was inspired by this picture (beautiful!).

Source an industrial style cabinet here (this one is very similar). Porch - cushions from INDIEbungalow, I like this rattan coffee table.

Old Meets New in a Magnificent 18th Century House

Do you dream of moving to the countryside? Or perhaps you already lead a rural life? I often fantasise about exchanging our townhouse for a rambling country home. I have a vision of muddy walks, rosy cheeked roasts in country pubs and long breakfasts with tea, jam and toast (do you get the sense I'm getting carried away?! Tell me country friends is it like this, tell me it is?!). This is probably why I came over all giddy when I stumbled across Yeabridge house in Somerset, South West England in the photography portfolio of Benjamin Edwards. Dating back to the 18th century, Yeabridge house is blessed with high ceilings, open fires and a winding staircase which leads up to a galleried landing and eight bedrooms. The house is owned by Mark Homewood who has created a fascinating, eclectic home where beautiful vintage and antique finds sit beside eye-catching contemporary design pieces. All in all, one fabulous house! Enjoy the tour!

Just in case we're not ready to up sticks or a country pile is slightly out of our reach (right now at least), we can still steal a few ideas.....

Here's my pick: kitchen - this mobile is similar, vintage chopping boards. workspace - vintage metal chairs. sitting room 1 - Yellow eames chair. sitting room 2 - Beni ourain rug, rattan chair. Combine an IKEA sofa with BEMZ urban loose fit cover for a similar look, Knoll Plantner coffee table. Zuo table. Bedroom - I like this sunburst mirror.

The lovely home of Madewell's lead designer

Guys, guys, guys, it looks like we made it! Friday night is calling! Woop! But before I shoot off into the night, I wanted to share a couple of snapshots from the home of Madewell's lead designer in Brooklyn with you (spotted in Domino magazine). Joyce Lee's love for all things timeless and well designed in the fashion arena rings true for her home too. The space has been decorated with fabulous vintage pieces, natural materials, layers of textiles and fun pops of colour, for a wonderfully relaxed family home. Enjoy!
